“Inter House Hindi Poetry Competition”

An “Inter House Hindi Poetry Competition” was organized as per school calendar,held at Multimedia Hall from 8am to 9am. This competition was organized under the guidelines of Mrs. Rekha Batra Ma’am. There were four students from each House[Dharam, Dhairya, Sachchai and Santosh] and four of them were from classes 9^th to 12^th. There were four rounds as per the classes and Houses.

The theme of the competition was “Veer Ras”. The poems of individual-student stressed upon the “Veer Ras” which means to be strong and vigorous.  The competition was hosted by Anshu Mehta of class 12^th- Comm. There were two judges i.e Dr. Ranjana Saxena, Principal of Satyug Darshan Sangeet Kala Kendra and Mr. Pradeep Sharma Sir. They judged the participants on the basis of their expression and presentation.

In the end of competition the results were declared and the first position bagged by Sachchai House [Jalaj- 9^th, Varsha- 10^th, Dhruv- 11^th and Sonu Sharma- 12^th] , the second position was retained by Santosh House [Preeti Virmani- 9^th, Sagar- 10^th, Hariom – 11^th and Saurav Ruhil- 12^th] and the third position was retained by Dharam House [Rohan Gupta- 9^th, Ankita Shukla- 10^th, Neelam Chaudhary- 11^th and Ambika Sikka- 12^th]. After the result declaration, the competition was concluded with the motivating speech of the judges, Dr. Ranjana Saxena Ji and Mr. Pradeep Sharma Sir.

In my views such competitions give enthuse the students for coming forward and show their excellence. The winning doesn't matter, only the participation that matters. So, keep participating and definitely you will win.

Moral Education and Spiritual Development

• S.D.V. lays higher emphasis on moral development of children as it helps in development of strong minds which make strong citizens and who in turn make a strong nation. This is achieved through formal and informal education and with special classes based on principles of equanimity and Evensightedness.

• To strengthen the foundation of the society, sessions aimed at promotion of national integration, harmony and universal brotherhood are conducted with missionary zeal. The students also get an opportunity to represent the School at national and international- level programs based on these themes.

An Initiative to mark Global Hand Washing Day 2012

CLEAN HANDS SAVE LIVES

October 15 every year is celebrated as Global Handwashing Day (GHD).The program aims to drive behavior change within school children so that they become agents of change and also help in taking the message home. Handwashing with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent diarrheal, abdomen infection, stomach upset and respiratory infections.

 In order to promote handwashing with soap, the students of Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya spread the word by several activities as Slogan making, Poster making, Rally marching and also through Storytelling and Presentations.   

Respected Sajan ji said “Teaching students to wash their hands with soap and water from an early age helps encourage this behavior for life” and he also inspired students to stay healthy by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The best part of the student’s initiative is that Students themselves played a central role in spreading the word instead of the germs. The Slogan Germs Germs, Go away became very popular.
